Just in from Sun Valley

Gail and Red and I went out to Sun Valley for xmas. We drove. How utterly ordinary. Absolute shite road conditions going out - three or four passes were snow and ice. We got to a roll-over seconds after it happened, extracting a dad and two little kids from his totalled truck. (We assured dad that a lost truck was a breeze compared to the torment of injuring or killing the kids, and he brightened up measurably. Gail and I were drinking a margarita about an hour later, pleased for being off the road.)

The trip back was much more like the picture above.

There was a lot of snow while we were in Sun Valley, though they're way behind this year. We did some snow shoeing and other wintry wonderlandish varietal stuff.

We had some good fun. We stayed with some ... older ... friends of mine. Xmas day was spent with their daughter and husband and kids and friends and it was just a big ol' warm celebration of the birth of the man who - according to his own book - knew no fun. But we had some.

Here are a few photos until I can regather my collective feces and write something intelligent.

Ethan Marx: 4.5 years. Damn good kid.

Snow. Good amounts. Heavy with H2O, but the valley was glad for it. Red... she dug it too. Not so sure what her issue was at this very moment.

Here, a quick stop on the epic nearly-non-stop trip home today. She hunts a mouse, I think. Crapping in the timothy hay fields of Prosser WA.

This? Just some o'that art. Also near Prosser.
