Discovery Channel Prostitution

I'm watching Discovery Channel. They're showing "Grizzly Man."

Discovery Channel has become an absolutely shameless whore.

They are showing, literally, four minutes of movie, three minutes of ads; six minutes of movie, five minutes of ads; eight minutes of movie, five and a half minutes of ads.

Like I say, shameless. Horrible.

$4.29 rental is worth it.

Like I said yesterday...

Analysis: Of a sudden, all sides are blaming U.S.

By SALLY BUZBEE

CAIRO, Egypt -- It may seem bewildering to Americans who see themselves as helping Iraq.

The rush to blame the United States for the shrine bombing is a sign not only of the deteriorating situation in Iraq, but the tense state of West-Mideast relations overall. From riots over the prophet drawings to the United Arab Emirates ports dispute to Hamas' election win, little is going right for the United States across the Arab world. LINK

GWB needs to simply shut up right now

NPR just did a report on the sectarian violence in Iraq following the destruction of one of the holiest Shiite shrines in the country.

George Bush was quoted as saying, "this is an evil act" meant to upset the path of democracy.

You know what? You started it George. You did this thing.

Everything that has happened, the 2,500 dead Americans, the tens of thousands of dead Iraqis, the total destabilization of the region, you did it all.

You lied through your balls to get us in. And you had no understanding whatsoever of what would happen when we got there.

The world is a vastly worse place because of your actions, George.

So shut up.
Just say, No Comment.
Because no one, anywhere, wants to hear you talk about the righteous path.
At all.
No one.
Shut up.

Mount St. Helens: Virgins Needed

I flew down to CA late last week to get some random things done. I took the 206 - the big plane - which has the wonderful technology of autopilot.

Flying back yesterday I strayed west just a few miles to have a close encounter with Mt. St. Helens. It was a perfect day - calm and clear. This is the view just over the rim...scroll down.

The center of the volcano is so much bigger now than I thought. It's gotten huge...and menacing.

And down in the caldera. This flight was pretty legal, really. I, uh, just used my zoom...
