This jet touched down Thursday at Boeing Field. This is the Oakley (as in sunglasses) jet. Note the jets in the background...white, with a stripe or two. Owner Jim Jannard's got a different spirit than most captains of industry.

The skull and crossbones is one of his themes - there's a turbine Otter on amphib floats up at Bellingham airport that's dark gray, and the only mark on it is a big skull and crossbones. It's Jannard's.

And here we have someone in West Seattle defining "casual summer wear."

I just wish I was comfortable enough in my own skin to shave my head and wear a robe in public. Life would be ... simpler.

Went for a hike today with Hilary.

Red flushed out a bunny and we watched helplessly as she ran this poor beast madly up and down the dirt road, we cheering as it disappeared into a thicket of blackberry. Then Red emerged from the bushes moments later with it hanging from her mouth.

She brought it to us, dropped it and sat panting. She wouldn't let me touch it.

She carried it up the trail with us about half a mile then dropped it; on our return, she picked it up and carried it for a while, then ran ahead and buried it in the bushes. Quite Christian of her, really.

This killing of all small animals would be considered one of her bad traits, being a city dog.
