Plastic, Inflatable, Wired

Plastic Jesus, Inflatable Grinch. Have yerself a schizophrenic Christmas! (Click le pic) Posted by Hello

This is something peculiar to the Northwest: that scudge on the side of the car - it's lichen. I kid you not. That stuff in the crack of the body panels? Moss. I mean honestly. Only in Seattle do cars grow organic material.  Posted by Hello

15 hours and 30 minutes of darkness

There is a strong inclination to bitch about the weather. But it is one of the few things in our lives that we bitch about over which we have no power whatsoever to change. Bitch about your weight - go on a diet. Hate your hair? Get it cut. Don't like your job? Quit.

And so it goes with the changing of the seasons.

So please don't take this as bitching. Take it as an observation.

Today is the longest night of the year - the winter solstice. In Seattle that means 15 hours and 30 minutes of darkness. The sun comes up sometime around 7.30, and it goes down a little after 4. It makes you want dinner by 5.30 and bed by 9.

Yesterday it rained. And rained. Sometimes big rain - drops like raisins. Other times it was small rain - like an aerosol. But we ran around 100% humidity until about...sunset. Then it cleared off.

The only thing to do if weather tolerance is breached is to leave. I just got back from Mexico - that may have something to do with my dissatisfaction. But now I'm going to go to Tucson. Dog to the kennel, meet Dave at Boeing Field, hop in the trusty Cessna for a flight south.

Goodbye...
