Autumn feels to me like a brake failure. It's a fast and really enjoyable ride, but you know it's going to be followed by a sudden reality that lasts a very long time. But days like today...wow. Shpectacular. Winter still feels distant.

A nearly lost art, apparently being revived in northern California. I just got back in from the Dwell show. The long drive was made tolerable by things like this: juveniles with spare time...and paint.
