Out-Republicaning the Republicans

I'm pretty much over Tom Friedman of the NYTimes. He wore out his welcome when he finally "got behind" the Iraq attack, saying that the world would indeed be a better place without Saddam. He may not have drunk the Koolaid, but some of it seems to have spilt onto his weenie at the picnic.

Today, though, he had a great line:

"Instead, Mr. Bush seems to be governing as though he were on a permanent campaign - much like Bill Clinton did. But Bill Clinton was on a permanent presidential campaign. Mr. Bush seems to be governing as if he were on a permanent primary campaign against John McCain in South Carolina."

W's become the little blinking light on the very tip of the right wing. Are people seeing this?
